From process and pricing, to invitation timelines and other details, here are answers to some of my most commonly asked questions.
LET’S DO THIS. WHERE DO WE START?
Send me a note and say hi! We’ll begin with a complimentary design consultation via e-mail so that you can tell me all about your wedding plans. I’ll send you a custom proposal outlining the pricing and timeline. Like what you see? Submit your $200 deposit and we’ll get started on the design process!
CAN I SEE SAMPLES FIRST?
Absolutely! I know that you probably have a lot of questions about paper thickness, envelope colors and overall invitation quality, and it’s crucial to feel confident about such an important purchase. Once we chat and I have a better sense of what you’re interested in, I’ll be happy to drop a sample in the mail for you. It costs $8.50 and will be applied towards your total should you choose to move forward with Paper Refinery for your stationery suite. I’m always happy to send paper swatches and envelope samples as well––whatever you need to feel good about your decisions.
WHEN SHOULD I START WORKING ON WEDDING STATIONERY?
I’d like to get started on your Save the Dates 12-10 months before your wedding and on your Invitation Suite about 5 1/2-6 months before your wedding. If you’re a bit behind, don’t panic! We’ll work through a timeline first thing and figure out a way to get caught up!
WHEN SHOULD I SEND MY STATIONERY?
Typically, your Save the Dates should go out about 6-8 months before your wedding, and Invitations should hit mailboxes 6-8 weeks before your wedding. If you’re planning a destination wedding where your guests will need to make travel plans in advance, try to get the save the dates out as soon as possible (even 12 months in advance, if you can) and/or send your invitations about 90 days before the wedding.
WHICH PRINT METHODS DO YOU USE?
Digital printing is most common, but I also have letterpress, engraving, and foil stamping options available.
I HAVE CHAMPAGNE TASTE AND AM ON A BEER BUDGET. CAN YOU HELP?
This happens to be my specialty! Being a newlywed myself, I totally get that weddings are expensive. While I’m a fan of an impressive wedding suite, I’m also a reasonable person. We’ll discuss your ideas and budget, and then I’ll help you prioritize and figure out how to design your dream wedding suite while staying on budget.
CAN I PURCHASE DIGITAL FILES SO THAT I CAN PRINT THE INVITATIONS MYSELF?
I’m adamant about making sure that all of your wedding paper prints exactly as it was designed. There is no need for you to stress over cut lines and bleeds, or a pink that’s just not the right shade when you have a million other to-dos on your list. Leave the printing to me––I insist!
